Phoenix Industrial provided civil, concrete, structural steel, pipe and electrical services to install a new 45 ton overhead crane system to transfer steel billets from the melt shop to the finish roll shop. The craneway is 105’ wide by 700’ long. The project schedule required Phoenix to install all piling and concrete foundations while the existing crane remained in operation. Our scope included:

- Excavation for new pile supported foundations.
- Installation of 230, 16” diameter by 85’ long pipe pile.
- Supply and installation of over 1,000 cubic yards of concrete for foundations.
- Supply and installation of 1,100 tons of structural steel for the new craneway.
- Demolition of existing craneway structure and foundations, as erection of the new craneway was underway.
- Installation of new air and water piping for the area.
- Installation of electrical ground system, overhead crane power, and area lighting.
